Pink is THE hot color this season. And, it’s everywhere – including vintage boutiques. I discovered this pink beauty at my favorite local spot for retro fashion – Retromended. The owner, Brandy, works wonders merging vintage and modern pieces. This was my attempt to do the same – hence the post title. Something old – no, it’s not me (at least for purposes of this post). It’s the clutch. A long-time family friend passed away a couple of years ago and this little bag belonged to her.
Something new – the floral sandal. I actually got these a couple of years ago, but florals are still trending. The “bracelet” is also fairly new. It’s actually a belt that I wrapped around my wrist and voila!
The dress knocks out the remaining two – something borrowed and something…pink. Although, it’s old too. A special thank you to Brandy for letting me borrow this lovely dress for a recent visit to NYC. I was a little unsure of my attempt to merge vintage and modern, because I felt like I was just throwing things together. In the end, I don’t think I did too shabby.
Check out Retromended’s online store for great vintage pieces. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Brandy. She’s awesome! If you’re new to vintage looks, Brandy will guide you to the pieces that will work for you. Trust me, I’ve witnessed her work first-hand.
