Every year April is crazy busy for me because it’s Parkinson’s Awareness month. I thought this year would be a bit slower because my husband and I did not host our annual fundraiser – The Art of Fashion. To the contrary, I was busier than ever, but it was a good busy. We launched a new podcast for the Parkinson’s community – PD Connect. You can check out our second episode here. We also participated in several wonderful Parkinson’s related events that required travel from coast to coast. Despite the whirlwind travel schedule, I made time for a couple of photo shoots in my favorite destination – NYC.
This gem of a dress is from my friend’s shop -Retromended Boutique. I thought the color was perfect for spring, plus orange is the signature color of Team Fox. We were in NYC for the 2018 Team Fox MVP Awards dinner, so I was feeling lots of good vibes during the trip. It would hard to feel anything but good vibes this stylish, bright 70’s dress. 🙂
The MVP dinner is a special event where the top fundraisers for Team Fox (benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research) gather for an evening full of fun, laughter, tears, friendship, and inspiration. Thanks to the many people who generously contributed to our fundraising campaigns, including the Parkinson Association of Central Florida, we were invited to attend again this year. Attending the MVP dinner is a rare opportunity to connect with many members of the Parkinson’s community who inspire and encourage me, so my thanks again to all of our amazing supporters who made it possible.
Now, back to this AMAZING dress! The streets were a bit crowded during the shoot (it’s NYC after all), but this dress is too boring to blend into a crowd. I love the contrast with the grey city backdrop. It’s makes the dress really pop!
