I originally planned to write a holiday post about these stylish Rockport booties and how perfect they are for running errands and doing your holiday shopping – but then life happened. The last time I wore these Cobb Hill Aria booties was during our trip to NYC in December. I wore them all day around the City and then some. The only picture I have of me in the shoes that day can be seen in the my Road to Recovery post – in the photo by the Rockefeller Christmas tree. As it turns out, that was the day my son went into respiratory failure. Like I said, life happened.
I literally wore the shoes from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. – 17 consecutive hours. I don’t think I’ve ever worn shoes for that long. I had no choice but to keep them on because we were in the hospital. My feet should have been killing me with all the walking and standing we did, but after we settled into our room in the PICU I remember noticing that they did not hurt. Not that it was of much consequence at the time, but in hindsight I have to say the shoes lived up to their reputation for comfort.
I wanted to give the booties another test drive (minus the traumatic event), and what better chance than a day at a Disney theme park. Yep, I wore the booties all around Animal Kingdom. It was unusually cold and raining , but my feet were dry and comfortable.
The challenging times in New York were a distant memory as I watched my son joyfully take in the sights and sounds of the park. Now, those moments seem more precious than ever.
Special thanks to Rockport for sending me the fabulous Aria booties to share with my readers.
